Shah Faisal (26), a doctor from Srinagar and son of n school teacher killed by militants, became the first Kashmiri to top the civil services exam. The results were announced on Thursday.

“I have no words to describe my happiness,” Faisal,  a 2008 batch graduate of the Jhelum Valley Medical College, said in Delhi on Thursday.

    Respected sir,
    I am sasikala 1year (comp.science) and i would like to apply for 2013 civils exam.
    My first optional is Indian history.I am in dilemma to choose 2nd optional among
    public administration,political science,geography.Sir please guide me.It is known that exam pattern will change .How I need to start my preparation?

    hey,
    the choice of 2nd optional subject is totally depend on u, means in which u r interested more…yeah the pattern will be change but we don’t know when..when will be the public adminstration will be the compulsory or … i m also preparing 4 the same nd my 1st optional paper is history nd 2nd one is geography.. i m in cse(6th sem) also.

    first of all congratulation sir,
    im a student of law, and will be an advocate on june this year, and im planning for ias coaching so that i can appear for exam in 2011, if u can guide me it be kind of u, i had choosen first additional as law subject and another as public administration.

    Respected sir,
    i am shikha.i always dream of becoming IAS & i am also ready to work hard for it.i am doing CHEMISTRY HONS now from St. stephen’ s college.i want to know can i crack ias exam with chemistry as the main subject since all other subjects are much scoring like arts subjects.sir, plz guide me so that i can make up myself for it from now.

    Congrats! It’s great to hear that u have just topped the upsc 2010 examination.I am from Arunachal pradesh .A remote area where many youth have aspirations like this one to appear in the UPSC exam.you are just an example for them.we all love u .keep hard working for the country……………..

    i ‘m a b.sc. (electronics)graduate ,i would like to know that how scoring physics is to take it as optional ,as i have hardly heard that candidates have opted for science as subject???

    First of all i personally praise you for your extraordinary performance in civil service
    examination ,congradulations

    I am student from UT of Lakshadweep,waiting for plus 2 results.My sole aim is to join IAS

    so sir please advice me about UPSC examinations, as i am from Lakshadweep i dont have

    much resources to get touch with IAS toppers
